Award Categories

Good Samaritan-Hero

The Acts of Kindness Good Samaritan-Hero Award recognizes individuals who unselfishly helped or protected an individual(s) in need, typically a stranger, whose life or human dignity were in danger.

Eligibility:

Nominee(s) resides or works in Marion County, Florida.
The nominee(s) will have performed a specified act or deed during the Acts of Kindness Awards recognition period and within Marion County, Florida.
Nominees can be an individual, a couple, or a group of individuals.
The act or deed must be performed outside the context of the nominee’s paid employment.

Entry judging shall consider:
(1) The visibility of the act or deed is such that others will be inspired by it.
(2) Shows tremendous courage, compassion and kindness in their action and deed.
(3) The selflessness of the action or deed, e.g., voluntarily went out of their way.
